Furniture
Low cost and thrifty furniture study.
An exploration using reclaimed stone and standardised "off the shelf'' timber sections to create quickly assembled, bespoke furniture using basic tools. The design of this vanity unit is made specific for use and the proportions work around a reclaimed piece of slate as a counter top. Carefully selected Stainless steel screws enable the unit to be simply and securely fixed together without the need for glue, enabling easy dismantling and re-use. The piece represents a desire to create larger objects and buildings using low cost, low impact materials which take into account after life and re-use.
